The young carers service has been a hive of activity this summer, benefiting over 140 young carers through 20 day trips for secondary and primary aged young carers. We were also able to offer young carers places at Strathallan and Morrisons sports and drama summer camps. In addition, we hosted an engaging badge-making workshop at Perth Museum, which was a huge hit.
Our 3 residentials, including a trip to Paris and a 2-day stay at Strathallan school, provided much-needed respite for over 50 young carers, fostering deep friendships and allowing them to immerse themselves in nature. The Young Carers Festival in Fordell also offered a safe and celebratory environment for young carers from across Scotland.
Despite facing challenges such as reduced funding and transportation issues, we managed to create an extremely successful and impactful summer for these inspiring young individuals.
