Celebrating Shopmobility

Here is an exciting update from Raymond, Carers Centre Manager, about the Shopmobility service. Congratulations, Rusit and Jack!

Morning PKAVS

I just wanted to say a massive well done to Rusit and Jack who both work at Shopmobility. Rusit had identified that we were paying quite large amounts to get the Shopmobility equipment serviced and that he had requests from people with mobility issues who have their own equipment to help with small repairs that they weren’t always able to do.

So over the past 12 weeks Rusit and Jack (and Ryan although his has been delayed as he has been taken away from Shopmobility to become PKAVS PAT man) have been working on a maintenance course so we can save money by servicing our own goods and also help people with their own equipment who may need support in repairing any issues they may have. I know that getting this certificate was quite some task and involved having to send recordings of them working on equipment to the people in charge of the qualification. Anyway, both received their certificates this morning and so they are now officially Shopmobility mechanics.

Well done to both of you for achieving this……and Ryan thanks also for helping with PAT testing and I have no doubt you’ll achieve yours too soon.

I hope you don’t mind me sharing this good news but I feel that Shopmobility can often be the forgotten part of PKAVS and so I wanted to give credit where it’s due.
