Here's a shout-out from Raymond, Carers Hub Manager:
'Just another EIGHT successful grant awards from the Carers Trust for Kerry to help support young adult carers source driving lessons. This coupled with all your previous successful applications has been an incredible achievement, and one I hope you are well chuffed about. Thanks for taking the time to do all these and WELL DONE on such a successful outcome.'
Earlier this month, we published a story about Kerry's progress with these grants and the impact that driving lessons can have on the lives of young adult carers.
We can congratulate Kerry, our Young Adult Carers support worker, who has made 15 successful Carers Trust Applications for driving lessons for Young Adult Carers. As each award is worth £300, this is a total of £4,500 raised by Kerry since March. She also has submitted another 8 applications awaiting a response the Carers Trust Panel.
Without this financial support, many Young Adult Carers would find it difficult to take this first step to independence, which may help them enter the job market or attend university. The difference these grants will make for these young people is immeasurable.
It's great to hear these applications had a positive outcome, and we look forward to hearing more good news from the Young Adult Carers service in the future.

Well done Kerry, what an achievement!
